Muscledefinition

Firmer, more defined muscle in the areas that are hardest to reach, with treatments that work while you relax.

Building definition under the surface

What muscle definition is

Definition is how clearly muscle shape shows through the skin. It depends on two things: how strong and toned the muscle is, and how much fat and loose skin sits over it.

Why it can be hard to build

Some muscles are hard to work fully with exercise alone, and a normal workout only ever engages part of the muscle fibres. Age, pregnancy, a busy schedule or an injury can all set tone back, and a layer of stubborn fat can hide the muscle that is there.

Our approach at Pearl Med Spa

We start by talking through your goals and choosing the target area together. EMS then triggers deep, powerful contractions, far more than you could do voluntarily in one session, to build and firm the muscle. Where fat or loose skin hides the result, we pair it with RF body contouring so the definition can show.

Popular areas for definition

Abdomen and core

The most popular area, for a firmer, more defined midsection and core support, including after pregnancy.

Glutes

Builds and firms the muscle for a lifted, more toned shape.

Thighs

Tones the front and back of the thigh, an area that is hard to target fully with exercise.

Arms

Firms the biceps and triceps for more definition in the upper body.

Our solutions for muscle definition

Each one is chosen after your consultation, and they are often combined for the best result.

Muscle definition questions

Does EMS replace exercise?

No. It is a boost alongside an active lifestyle, reaching muscle fibres a workout can't, and helping you push past a plateau or target hard-to-reach areas.

What does it feel like?

Intense muscle contractions, like a hard workout, but not painful. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients have a series of sessions a few days to a week apart, followed by occasional maintenance. We will plan it with you.

When will I see a difference?

Many clients feel firmer muscle within the first few sessions, with visible definition building over the series and the weeks after.

Is there downtime?

None. Your muscles may feel like they have had a workout, and you can go straight back to your day.

Who is it not suitable for?

It isn't suitable during pregnancy, or for people with metal implants or a pacemaker in the area. Your esthetician will check before your first session.
